Wedding Couple Origins: Indonesia and Canada

Facing the Malacca Straits, the wedding took place on a scenic coastline of Port Dickson with a comforting breeze and in a relaxed atmosphere. Set outdoor with a rustic wedding arch adorned by navy blue curtains and white flowers, Deffry and Belinda exchanged their vows in front of their friends and families.

Given the minimalistic settings, all guests were able to simply focus on the ceremony. With the sound of waves crashing against the shore in the background and the loving entrance music as the bride’s father walked Belinda down the aisle, Deffry’s eyes were seen filled with tears of joy. The touching moments moved everyone – even more so when the father made a cheeky speech at the altar before the ceremony began. “I want to highlight that my future son-in-law is truly brilliant, because he found a really special girl – my daughter! I am really happy that they’ve found each other, complementing each other and respecting each other. With the strong foundation they hold, I have no worries giving her hand to Deffry.” We cannot agree more with this statement. With a bit of humour and some life-earned wisdom – it truly concluded how a marriage should be.

The couple gave extra attention in the details of the wedding stationery, using words and graphic works to express their sentiments. They have selected a matching navy blue invitation with gold calligraphy, incorporating a white cotton paper for details. All (number of guests) invitation cards were prepared individually by an Indonesian artist, along with a complete set consist of a map and a 3-day itinerary in the idyllic Port Dickson resort. Representation phrases could be observed around the beach ceremony too.

The bride, Belinda recalls, “We wanted a small, intimate wedding, just with the people that matter. Having a destination wedding was the perfect option. The beach, the settings and the schedule were ideal as we were able to have this intimate wedding but at the same time able to spend quality time in a beautiful resort with people we love.”

Afterthoughts from Precious Moments Team:
Destination weddings aren’t always easy, there are many uncontrollable external factors that can affect the ceremony, especially a destination wedding by a beach! Weather, logistic, beach condition, just to name a few. While coordinating with the arrivals of guests, relatives, emcee and bands flying into Port Dickson from different countries including Indonesia, Canada and Singapore, it was essential to have a good grasp of the schedule. In addition, the weather on the wedding day couldn’t be considered the best, it was indeed slightly gloomy and a tad too windy. However, everyone kept a positive outlook while quietly preparing for Plan B. We were lucky that all went smoothly and the couple had a touching and memorable ceremony.
